5.5 Elevator Wireless Coverage Solution
5.5 Elevator Wireless Coverage Solution
Date: 2018-12-06

There is no way for the elevator wireless coverage to cover the signal from the outside of the box to the inside of the box, so the AP (or antenna) needs to be placed inside the box. At the same time, the elevator cabinet moves up and down, how to provide a signal source to the AP on the cabinet is the most critical issue. Based on this feature, two schemes were designed.

One is to connect to the wireless AP on the cabinet through a pull cable or optical fiber (the elevator has accompanying cables), so as to achieve elevator coverage.

Another solution is to use wireless bridging to achieve wireless backhaul and wireless coverage. Place a root AP on the top of the elevator shaft, use directional antenna coverage, and place an AP on the box as a bridge to achieve coverage and backhaul.

Of course, the two types of plans must consider the height of the floor. When it comes to specific projects, it is recommended to find a manufacturer's design and then test, otherwise it is likely that the signal is weak or the signal is unstable.
